Welcome to Stitch with Suz, a creative series designed to help you slow down, breathe, and stitch your way into calm.
Each project begins with one of my original Serti Batik designs, thoughtfully transformed into a stitching cloth. The beauty of batik is in the line work — those flowing wax lines naturally guide your needle, making this an easy, intuitive, and relaxing experience for stitchers of all levels. No guessing. No stress. Just stitch and flow.
This style of hand embellishing is known as Slow Stitch — a mindful, calming practice that encourages you to be present, creative, and kind to yourself. No hoop is needed. Simply hold your fabric, follow the lines, and enjoy the rhythm of needle and thread.
✨ The First Project: The Triplet Set
The inaugural project in the Stitch with Suz series is “The Triplet Set”, featuring three colorful owl designs — each one a variation of my beloved character Hoots.
Hoots began life as a Serti Batik, later enhanced digitally, and now returns in stitched form — playful, wise, and full of personality. Each owl invites its own creative interpretation, making this set both cohesive and delightfully individual.
